Traci has served on the Board of Directors for nearly 20 years and was president of the society 2004-2006. She rejoined the board in 2022 after a nine-year hiatus. For over 35 years, Traci was employed by the East Bay Regional Park District at Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve in Antioch. After retiring as Supervising Naturalist, she continued her work with the Park District as a contractor working to complete oral history transcriptions of former Mount Diablo Coal Field residents and their descendants, as well as ranchers and former sand miners of the area.
Traci co-authored the book Images of America, Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve. Additionally, she authored the book Rose Hill – A Comprehensive History of a Pioneer Cemetery in the Mount Diablo Coal Field and was honored to receive the Scholastic/Authorship Award from the Conference of California Historical Societies as well as The Harriette Merrifield Forbes Award from the Association of Gravestone Studies for her work.
