John Burgh

John Burgh has been active in the Society - as a volunteer and then as Board Member - for over 10 years. He previously served as President in 2013. He is a retired environmental engineer who has worked on water and wastewater projects throughout the world, with 42 years of experience in the administration, project management, and design of public works. For the last 30 years of his career, he worked for an environmental engineering consulting firm where he retired as Vice President.

Since being elected in 2004, he has served on the Board of Directors of Contra Costa Water District. CCWD provides water to 500,000 people in 10 cities in the central and eastern portion of the County.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Masters in Management from the University of New Mexico. A registered professional engineer in California, he is also an Air Force veteran.

A resident of Concord for 35 years, he is a member of the Pleasant Hill Rotary Club and a volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels, delivering meals to shut-in senior citizens in the area. His hobby is restoring old Studebakers.
