Anyone interested in the preservation of Contra Costa County history is invited to apply for membership.
While many Society members are also affiliated with local historical groups, such membership is NOT a requisite for joining the County Historical Society.
Membership categories include: Individual, Couple, Sponsor, or Corporate. See the table below for the current fee schedule.

Members are also mailed the Society Bulletin, which is published quarterly. It reports on upcoming meetings and on the Society's activities and special events. An interim Bulletin, based largely on historical materials, is also published at varying times throughout the year.
From time to time special printed pieces are distributed to the membership. In the past, the Society has produced such items as a Map of Historical Points of Interest, a facsimile of the rare Smith & Elliott's Illustrations of Contra Costa Co. and a series of historical magazines called the Contra Costa Chronicles.
